Default PS3 HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3

Anyone excited about this bad boy? I have HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 2 for PS2, and i cant wait for this one to touch ground. Sad that cool things like this dont come out in the states. I've been spitting curses at my PS3 controller since i've been playing Tekken: DR5 and it sucks trying to do certain commands without a joystick. Mostly because going from Forward/Backward to Neutral seems to take too long for me. I was hoping for some kind of adapter for PS3 so i could use my PS2 controllers on it.

As far as the quality of the joystick goes, my other one is top notch. I've been going to the Evolution fighting tournament for the last two years and the majority of the people there seem to prefer the HORI sticks due to the use of SANWA arcade parts. These actually feel like the arcade machines in Japan since almost all the cabinets use SANWA buttons and joys. For those that dont know, they are super responsive buttons that have convex button shape for higher response. The joystick is usually angularly cut at the base so that you can flow from diagonals to orthogonals more efficiently. Some people dont like the angular base cut and preffer the circular cut.

anyways, lemme know what you all think. Anyone else buying one? Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken DR5 are right around the corner for US release.

I am not that much of a fighting game fan, so I don't think I will buy such a big baby. But usually Hori product are of excellent quality. Has the Pro Arcade 2 ever been released in the States?

I also noticed another stick coming along at the same time, which is the Sega Virtua Stick. What do you think about that one?

I heard that in fact the PS2 to PC USB adapters work, but not all of them are suitable with the arcade sticks.

I think you will be able to use the PS3 USB sticks on PC yes.

Mmm but how to make sure that this or this kind of stick works or not.

I own 2 Neogeo sticks (I like Samurai Showdown & Fatal Fury series & play sometimes NeoGeo emulator on Xbox). And I can't belive Sony or Hori is not bringing any kind of adaptor

I heard the PS3 "Downloads service" should offer some Neogeo games, would be interesting to know if the NeoGeo sticks works with the PS3 through an adaptor... I guess I'll have to find out by myself

Thumbs up

Invest about $16 on one of these http://kettya.com/notebook/tips/converter_elecom2.jpg and you don't have to worry about spending more money on PS3 sticks. Works with all PS2 controllers/sticks. Personally I'm using my Hori/Namco sticks and it works great.

Yeah, i did see that one. I would get it except that it's designed with only VF5 in mind. I'm kinda used to have the eight buttons in sequence now, hehe. Other wise, it's a great pad im sure. It looks like it's using SANWA buttons as well.

My HORI 2 works with my PC USB adapter. I use this one right here:

http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-2

I've been using it for about 3 years or so and havent had any problems with it what-so-ever. I've played tons of games with my PS2 dualshock pad and HORI including KoF games and V-Shooters, so i can vouch for it.

None of these have ever come out in the US unfortunately. Shame really, if they kept production low and manufactured them locally, they could stand to make a profit from them.

Edit: I take that back, the HORIs have been released here in the US. Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Dead or Alive have specialized versions of the HORI 2 that were released here i believe. The original color that's black & silver with Green buttons has not been released here.
